Let’s face it… Covid-19 has left couples and wedding professionals in a real bad spot. It’s the beginning of July 2020 when I am writing this post and things change …
Nicole + Jonathan were married at The Merrimon-Wynne House in Raleigh, NC in May of 2019. We designed the florals with a fairytale garden aesthetic in mind. To keep it romantic and airy, we used lots of light neutrals and blush tones. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were simple single-stem bouquets. In addition to designing the bouquets and centerpieces, we created the climbing greenery installation along the stairs in the house.
Julia + Alex were married at The Barn at Valhalla in Chapel Hill, NC in May, 2019. As outdoorsy people, they knew they wanted their wedding to be in the woods — “a bit campy, but elegant,” in Julia’s words. Since The Barn at Valhalla is stunning on its own, the design was minimal and inspired by nature. For the floral design we focused on locally sourced wildflowers with lots of greenery and pops of summer colors.
Allie + Sean were married at The Meadows at Firefly Farm in Raleigh, NC in May of 2019. Their dreamy outdoor wedding was inspired by their upcoming honeymoon trip to Italy. The Meadows was the perfect venue for the rustic, seaside aesthetic we wanted to create.
Mary + Danielle were married at Durham Arts Council in Durham, NC in October of 2019. Their unique art gallery wedding was a beautiful celebration of LGBTQ+ love. The Durham Arts Council was the perfect venue — elegant, affordable, and a fun way for guests to experience the art exhibits as well as the wedding.
Lisa & Wallace were married at Old Edwards Club in Highlands, NC in November 2019. The Narnia themed wedding included an enchanting candlelit ceremony just after sunset followed by a glamorous plated dinner in the clubhouse.
Ashley + Arthur were married at The Rickhouse in Durham, NC in June of 2019. Their whimsical wedding was full of pastel floral centerpieces was designed and coordinated by Folie à Deux Events.
This celestial wedding inspiration photoshoot was designed by Folie à Deux Events and photographed by Ariel Kaitlin Photography. We had both really liked the trend of geode details in weddings, but wanted to create a photoshoot that incorporated these details in a more modern/minimalist fashion.
How do you know if you should hire a full-service wedding planner or just a coordinator? Coordination is all the rage these days but it still leaves most of the planning up to the couple. And while some couples are super into the idea of planning their wedding, others have about 800 other things they would rather be doing… and I don’t blame them.
Gabby and Issac were married in May 2018 at the Carolina Theater in Greensboro, NC followed by a reception at Cadillac Service Garage. Their old Hollywood glamour wedding theme was completely perfect for these two theater aficionados.
