Lisa + Wallace were married at Old Edwards Club in Highlands, NC in November 2019. The Narnia themed wedding included an enchanting candlelit ceremony just after sunset followed by a glamorous plated dinner in the clubhouse. It was a witchy winter wonderland complete with snowy details, royal purple accents, and old-fashioned lamppost-inspired elements. They even had the officiant do tarot readings at the welcome party.

The Old English hunting lodge style of Old Edwards Club fit the theme perfectly — we even saw a bear outside right before the rehearsal! Old Edwards Inn’s team was kind, accommodating, and dedicated. We can’t wait to work with them again at the club or at one of their other wedding venues in Highlands, NC.

To create a dark, dreamy aesthetic, we chose a variety of flowers including garden and quicksand roses, lisianthus, anemone, and ranunculus in rich shades of purple, creamy blush, and silver. We also used some bleached elements including ferns, ruscus, and bunny tails. We traveled to the Highlands a few days early to design the florals in our Airbnb!

We knew the ceremony would be after dark, so we provided plenty of lanterns and candles to add ambiance to the lighting. We designed the aisle with white flower petals on both sides for a snowy effect. The low semicircle flower arrangement at the alter brought a whimsical fantasy element without blocking the gorgeous view of the mountains.

Guests enjoyed a delicious plated dinner catered by Old Edwards Club. The tables were pre-set with Turkish Delight, another nod to the Narnia theme. Cream and Flutter provided a beautiful cake decorated with sugar flowers that matched the flowers in the arrangements.

Following the emotional ceremony, everyone headed to the dance floor underneath a stunning fairy light installation that added a glamorous, wintery feel. Big Love played music all night long, and they were one of the best cover bands we’ve ever seen!

All in all, this wedding was such a wonderful experience. We felt very close to Lisa and Wallace, and we enjoyed every moment we spent with them from the early planning to the spectacular ceremony.
