Gabby and Issac were married in May 2018 at the Carolina Theater in Greensboro, NC followed by a reception at Cadillac Service Garage. Their old Hollywood glamour wedding theme was completely perfect for these two theater aficionados.
I (Erica) met Gabby and Isaac through the Bridechilla community. From the very first time we chatted, I knew we would be friends! It would actually be a few more months though before Gabby and Isaac got in touch about our services. After going through a stressful venue change while planning from out of town, they decided to bring us on for Coordination so we could be their local eyes and ears and handle the logistics.
Our video calls became something we all looked forward to! As we worked on finalizing details and creating the perfect timeline for their event, we also went to Gabby and Isaac with another idea… what would they think about having us do their floral designs as well? They said yes, and their wedding was our very first full service floral design project as well!
Gabby and Isaac’s vintage Hollywood wedding featured gorgeous antique table decor which they spent months thrifting, bud vases of lipstick red, slate blue, and sepia tone florals with a hand-placed greenery runner. The lobby of Cadillac Service Garage featured the bar and a lounge of vintage furniture from The Prettiest Pieces and accented with more florals.
Gabby’s bouquet was one of our favorite design elements from the wedding. She wanted something classic in design, but with rich, unique colors and varieties. Many of the flowers in her bouquet were locally sourced from Wild Scallions Farm and Blue Bird Meadows. The sepia-toned, Koko Loco roses were ordered from Grace Rose Farm in California and these roses were the star of the show. Their unique beige-mauve color was unlike anything I had ever worked with before! We finished off the bouquet with Silver and Navy velvet ribbons.
The ceremony was something I will be talking about for years to come. On stage at the Carolina Theater and featuring a custom Gobo light backdrop of a cityscape. I have never laughed or cried so much during a ceremony ever before… Two of their friends did a “dramatic reading” of Gabby and Isaac’s first Facebook messages when they started dating in High School, love letters between grandparents were read aloud by Gabby’s mom, and their vows to each other were incredibly personal and moving.
The reception was tons of fun, guests dancing through the evening to live music from The Adrian Duke Project, and to the DJing of On Target DJs. A huge hit that evening was the gelato cart from Matt’s Gelato! One of our favorite moments was when Gabby and her dad danced to Paradise by Coldplay – such an awesome song for a Father-Daughter dance!
And last but not least, shout outs are owed to the photographer duo of Rob + Kristen. These two have become some of my favorite folks to work a wedding with. Everything from the portraits, ceremony, family formals, and reception photos are simply gorgeous and truly capture this special couple and amazing wedding in the most authentic way. Their flair for artistic and dramatic lighting and posing was the perfect fit for Gabby & Isaac.
