Today, we bring you a botanical wedding styled shoot from last fall at Oakland Farm. When my good friend, Adam, told me he would be managing this brand new wedding venue, I offered to help them get started by organizing a styled wedding shoot. Oakland Farm is a scenic property in southern Chatham County, between Sanford and Pittsboro, NC. I met our photographer, Ana Teresa last summer and instantly realized our styles and aesthetic were right in line with each others! We collaborated with Adam and a few other wonderful vendors to put together a shoot that would showcase the venue and its flexibility. Often, barn venues get painted into a corner, hosting only rustic, country inspired weddings. We wanted to show that Oakland Farm is much more than just another southern, rustic barn!
We wanted to create a botanical wedding look that enhanced the natural elements of the venue. One of our models, Olivia, is a painter and we were inspired by one of her paintings, pulling the color story for the decor and florals from her abstract pieces. I personally love working with in-season botanical elements. Seeded Eucalyptus, Italian Ruscus, and leather leaf fern were used for the garlands. We accented the greenery with soft pink Lilies and Alstroemeria, white wax flowers and warm metals like gold and brass in the other decor. Those mid-century modern candlesticks are honestly my favorite pieces in my collection!
Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this botanical wedding shoot possible and braved the harsh November cold with us!
